Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee, who has been hospitalized for forty days due to complications from Covid-19, is completely unresponsive, according to the head of the medical board.

Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee’s health condition is “extremely critical” and “does not respond at all” to treatment, said Arindam Kar, critical care expert and head of the medical board at Belle Vue Hospital in Kolkata.
The octogenarian actor’s health has deteriorated “extremely” in the last 48 hours.
“The team of doctors that includes a neurologist, nephrologist, cardiologist, critical medicine specialist, infectious disease specialist, both from the public and private sectors, all have worked to recover the legend of the critical stage, but it is not working. “Kar said.
He said doctors have gone to great lengths to “revive” Soumitra to a better state. “We are very sorry to say that he is not responding at all.”
Award-winning Dadasaheb Phalke, 85, has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Kolkata’s Belle Vue Hospital for nearly 40 days and his level of consciousness dropped significantly since Friday. The veteran actor’s condition was of concern due to comorbidities and advanced age. His key problem was COVID-19 encephalopathy, the doctors said.
Soumitra Chatterjee tested positive for coronavirus on October 5 and I was admitted to the hospital the next morning.
He was filming for a documentary titled Abhijan directed by actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay. The last time he attended the filming room at Bharatlaxmi Studio was on October 1. The next filming schedule was set for October 7.
