A day after he was hospitalized in Dehradun following complications related to Covid-19, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was transferred to the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi (AIIMS) on Monday. He had tested positive for COVID-19 on December 18 and was in home isolation.
On Sunday, the 60-year-old man developed a mild fever and was taken to Government Doon Medical College in Dehradun for a medical checkup, an official said Monday.
Her doctor, Dr. NS Bisht, said a chest infection had been detected, according to ANI. After consulting and following the advice of the AIIMS doctors in Delhi, the Chief Minister was transferred to the national capital for further examinations and tests. He was flown by a state government helicopter to AIIMS this morning, an official said.
The Chief Minister had isolated himself several times earlier this year after several of his ministerial and administrative colleagues tested positive for the virus at various times.
On December 18, he tweeted: “I had a corona test today and the report came back positive. My health is fine and I have no symptoms. Therefore, on the advice of doctors, I will be in home isolation. Ask everyone, to those who have contacted me in the last few days, to isolate themselves and review themselves. “
His wife and daughter had also tested positive for coronavirus.
According to the Union Health Ministry, there are 5,444 active cases of COVID-19 in Uttarakhand, while 82,298 have recovered to date. The fatalities amounted to 1,476.
