Uttar Pradesh young man beaten to death by relatives of his girlfriend in Azamgarh – lucknow


A 22-year-old from Azamgarh’s Uttar Pradesh was tied to a pole and beaten before he was seen hot water, allegedly by relatives of his girlfriend in Chewata village below the Kaptanganj police station area on Wednesday in the morning. He succumbed to injuries on the way to a hospital after being rescued, police said.

The incident occurred when the young man went to the girl’s house during the early hours of Wednesday to see her.

Five people, including the girl, her two brothers and two other people have been arrested in the case.

Manish Ram had a crush on the 19-year-old, who lives in his neighborhood, for the past year. Their families were against the relationship that led to Manish being sent to Ghaziabad by his family about a year ago, according to a police officer.

The officer said Manish had returned to the village about a month ago and on Wednesday, sneaked into his girlfriend’s house in the early morning hours to meet her.

The girl’s relatives woke up after hearing him chatting with the girl and caught Manish. Later, they tied him to a peg and beat him. They also poured hot water on it. Once his condition deteriorated, they called police claiming they had caught a burglar who had broken into their home, police said.

The police team released the young man after arriving at the scene and transferred him to the district hospital where the doctors declared him dead. His body has been sent for an autopsy.

Kaptanganj Police Station Official Inspector Anand Kumar Singh said five people were arrested after a case was registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) following a complaint from the deceased’s brother , Anil Kumar. More research is underway.
