Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Friday that the state government supports the Center’s decision to conduct the National Entrance Eligibility Test (NEET) and the Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE).
The prime minister also said that all activities must be carried out following the Covid-19 protocol, adding that the B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) entrance exam was held for five lakh candidates in the state on August 9. and there were no complaints about Covid-19 infection during that exam.
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) must also conduct its examinations in a similar way, he said. Adityanath was reviewing the Unlock-3 situation at a high-level meeting at his official residence in Lucknow on Friday.

The National Testing Authority (NTA), the nodal body for conducting the tests, and the central government plan to conduct JEE-Main between September 1-6 and NEET on September 13. JEE-Main and NEET are for aspiring engineers and undergraduate physicians, respectively. .
On Friday, ministers from six states not governed by the BJP filed a petition for review with the Supreme Court that challenged an August 17 order from the Supreme Court that had allowed the central government to retain NEET and JEE in September despite the Covid-19 prevailing situation. .
These six states are West Bengal, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, and Maharashtra.
Yogi Adityanath reiterated his directive of 1.50 lakh of Covid-19 testing per day in the state.
All efforts must continue to break the chain of Covid-19, he said, adding that there should be an increase in medical tests with a special increase in the number of rapid antigen tests per day. The number of RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) tests per day should also increase and there should be an increase in the manpower required for that purpose, the prime minister ordered officials.
He also said that district magistrates should focus on pandemic work between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., inspect offices between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., and repair complaints from people in their offices between 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. 1 pm.
The Prime Minister also asked other Senior Secretaries / Senior Secretaries to carry out the inspection of the offices under his charge. He said that, except for employees on leave or those who were sick, 50 percent attendance should be ensured in all offices and measures should be taken against those who are absent at 9.30 a.m. Adityanath also said that an inspection system should be implemented at the tehsil and development block levels. Police officers should also follow the same system, he added.
“In the absence of district magistrates and subdivisional magistrates, any other responsible official must follow the schedule at various levels,” he said.
In addition to improving surveillance, provisions in integrated command and control centers should be increased. People should be aware of Covid-19 in such a way that they are not afraid to come forward for treatment, he said.
Work on the upcoming Gorakhpur pediatric institute should be completed on time, he said. The prime minister noted that malaria cases had been reported in some districts. He said that special medical teams should be sent and that the necessary arrangements for medical treatment should be available there.
The arrangements for the distribution of fertilizers must be smooth and regularly monitored, he said. He also ordered officials to take action against the owners of sugar mills who are not paying quotas for cane producers.
The distribution of aid and compensation to people in the areas affected by the floods must be ensured in a timely manner, he said.
