Family files police report
Police said that on 4 November the family filed a missing person complaint at Beniganj Police Station, after which an investigation was launched.

Police said that on October 15, the defendant, identified as Bhagaban Moharana from Bhadrak district, kidnapped the teenager as she was returning home. He, with the help of a woman, allegedly took her to her place of origin and sexually assaulted her.
