Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Senior Deputy Minister Manish Sisodia visited the Singhu border on Sunday, where thousands of farmers have been protesting for the past four weeks against the three agricultural laws passed by the Center in September. Challenging the Center and its ministers to engage in an open debate with protesting farmers about the provisions of the new laws, Kejriwal said: “The government is saying that farmers are being misled. They have little knowledge of agricultural laws. I have listened to all the speeches and therefore I want the government to send its most informed minister or representative to participate in an open debate with the farmers. It will be clear who has a better understanding. “
The Slamming Center’s attempt to attribute the protest to “antisocial” elements, Kejriwal said, “is a weapon of all governments. When we participated in Anna andolan, they also labeled us that way. If farmers are anti-national now, who will feed them? All parties have deceived farmers for the past 70 years. I want to tell the Center with folded hands that these protesters are our people. They are fighting for your cause by braving this cold. If their agriculture is stolen, what will they do? “
As he said earlier, Kejriwal pointed out once again that the laws have no benefits for farmers. “They are saying that the MSP will not end. The land will not be grabbed. Are these benefits? These are already there ”, he said, adding that the provision of selling products anywhere in the country is not a benefit to obtain a better price than the MSP.
Securing all aid from the Delhi government, Sisodia said: “The Center wanted to imprison the protesters inside the Delhi stadiums. But Delhi CM objected and made sure that farmers did not have to suffer in Delhi. Also in the future we will do everything possible for our farmers. “
