The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will announce the revised Civil Services (Preliminary) examination 2020 dates 5 June.
“Revision of the Programme of Examinations/RTs-2020 [including the date of the Civil Services (Prel) Examination-2020] it will be loaded in 05.06.2020 after evaluating the situation,” UPSC notified on its official website – https://www.upsc.gov.in.
The UPSC was initially expected to announce the new dates for the civil Services (Preliminary) examination, 2020 Wednesday, May 20.
The exam was previously scheduled for May 31, but was postponed due to the nationwide blockade imposed by the government to contain the spread of the new coronavirus.
The lock of 4.0, which entered into force on May 18, will continue until the end of this month.
According to a report from the The Times of IndiaCivil service Exam consist of two successive stages (i) The Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination and (ii) Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts.
10 lakh candidates registered themselves for the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) examination each year, reported Hindustan Times.
UPSC this year has been postponed a series of exams, including UPSC Civil Services Examination, UPSC NDA Exam, UPSC CMS exam due to the COVID-19 security lock.
It has also been deferred from the personality tests for the officials of the Services Review of 2019, reported Business Insider. The interview consists of 275 marks and it is the final round of the selection of officials.
The interview of the candidates who had cleared the public Services Network was scheduled between 23 March and 3 April.
