UPSC 2020 Civil Services Preliminaries: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct the 2020 Civil Services Preliminary Examination on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 2,569 centers in 72 cities across the country.
This year, a total of more than 10.58 lakh candidates have applied for the UPSC Prelims exam.
In light of the coronavirus pandemic, the commission had published guidelines for candidates to follow on exam day.
The commission has made the wearing of masks mandatory for the preliminary examination. “Candidates without a mask / face covering will not be allowed into the venue,” the notice containing the guidelines reads.
Candidates are advised to bring a copy of their admission card to their respective exam center or else they will not be allowed to appear on the exam.
Candidates are also encouraged to bring a black pen, as they will be asked to fill out the OMR answer sheets and attendance list in black pen only.
“Candidates can bring their own hand sanitizer in clear bottles. In addition to the above, candidates must follow the COVID 19 rules of ‘social distancing’, as well as ‘personal hygiene’ within the halls / exam rooms, as well as in the headquarters facilities, ”it reads in the guidelines.
Mobile phones are not allowed inside the test center.
