UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today ordered senior officials to begin recruitment drives in the state within the next three months, along with issuing letters of appointment to selected candidates in the six months thereafter. Some issues regarding unemployment were raised on September 17, 2020, after which the UP government has published this decision.
The CM held a meeting with senior officials, seeking details of all vacant positions in various departments of the government office within a week, a spokesperson reported. The CM has also tweeted about it stating that it has asked all officials to report vacancies no later than tomorrow.
“The CM ordered to ensure that the recruitment campaigns are carried out in the next three months in a transparent manner as was done in the recruitment for about three lakh of jobs, and to distribute appointment letters in six months,” said the official while speaking to the media. The Prime Minister is also reportedly holding meetings in this regard with the heads of all recruitment committees and boards.

According to the published official statement, “The current government adopted a transparent process and provided jobs to more than three lakh of applicants in the last three years.”
According to government data in 2017, a total of 1,37,253 people were recruited into various positions in the police department; 54,706 in the department of basic education; 8,556 in the department of health and family welfare and 28,622 in the National Health Mission program. In addition, 26,103 people received jobs through the Uttar Pradesh Public Utilities Commission, UPPCS, 16,708 through the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission, UPSSC. 14,000 candidates were selected in the department of secondary education and 4,615 in the department of higher education until 2017.
