While the exit poll predictions for Bihar will be disappointing for the BJP, the projections for the by-elections of the Assembly in various states will certainly make the party happy. On Saturday, exit polls predict that the BJP government will be safe in Madhya Pradesh, and the party will do very well in its strongholds in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
An average of more than 53 percent of voters exercised their right to vote on November 3 to decide the electoral fortunes of 88 candidates in seven seats in the UP. Bulandshahr has the highest number of 18 candidates, while Ghatampur has the lowest of six. Sixteen candidates are in the fray in Malhani, 14 each in Naugaon Sadat and Deoria, 10 each in Bangarmau and Tundla.
The Azad Samaj party of Bhim’s army chief Chandrashekhar Aazad has sent Mohammad Yameen from Bulandshahr to test his electoral popularity.
A total of 60.75% voter turnout was registered in the by-elections held in Abdasa (Kutch), Limbdi (Surendranagar), Morbi (Morbi district), Dhari (Amreli), Gadhada (Botad), Karjan (Vadodara), Dang (Dang district). Kaprada (Valsad) and Kaprada Assembly seats on November 3.
Up to 81 candidates disputed the by-elections in the eight seats.
