Samrat Das, 35, was allegedly shot in Gonda of Uttar Pradesh on Saturday (October 10) while sleeping. Police said Das was referred to the Lucknow King George Medical University trauma center after receiving primary care at Gonda District Hospital.

Gehlot’s tweet translated from Hindi read: “An incident occurred in Rajasthan where the police showed promptness and immediately arrested the main defendant; the UP government must also take immediate action in the incident where a priest was shot in Gonda “.
The Rajasthan prime minister’s remarks come after he faced criticism from the BJP and other opposition parties over the death of priest Babulal Vaishnav in the Bukna village of Rajasthan’s Karauli district.
The 50-year-old man was allegedly set on fire by people also over a land dispute on 8 October. Vaishnav’s relatives, who had been protesting for three days, finally ended their protest on Saturday after speaking with government representatives and were assured of 10 lakh rupees compensation and other assistance.
