UP: Girl rescued from jute bags in Meerut | Meerut News


MEERUT: A girl, probably a few days old, wrapped in plastic and kept in jute bags was abandoned on the road in Meerutin the Partapur area on IP Monday night. She was later rescued by onlookers who heard her screams and found the baby abandoned on the road with stray dogs lurking.
Later local Partapur Police The Meerut station was alerted and the girl was admitted to the district women’s hospital where she is under observation and her condition is said to be stable.
“His condition is stable. We have checked the heart rate, oxygen level and other vital parameters. They are normal and in accordance with that of a newborn,” said Vivek Chaudhary, a doctor at the hospital.
The video of onlookers rescuing the girl from the jute bags was also shared on Twitter and Facebook, which has gone viral. The video evoked strong responses from users who unequivocally condemned the act of abandoning the baby on the road.
Various adoption requests have also started to come in and many are willing to contact the district administration in Meerut to inquire about the legal and official formalities to adopt her.
