Unlock 4: Metro services will operate in a staggered manner from September 7

As India slowly opens up after several months of restrictions and closures, the government has given a green flag to more activities in areas outside of Containment Zones in Unlocking 4.

In Unlock 4, which will start from September 1, 2020, the process of gradual reopening of activities has been further expanded.

In the new guidelines issued on Saturday by the Interior Ministry (MHA) for Unlocking 4, the greatest relief comes for commuters, as metro services will resume from September 7 in a phased manner.

“The Metro railroad will be able to operate in a staggered manner by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA) / Ministry of Railways (MOR), in consultation with MHA. In this sense, MOHUA will issue SOP ”, says the statement.

The new guidelines for Unlock 4 are based on feedback received from states and UT and extensive consultations with related central ministries and departments, the MHA said.

The guidelines also say that open-air cinemas will be allowed beginning September 21, 2020. However, movie theaters, swimming pools, amusement parks, theaters and similar venues will remain closed.

The statement also mentioned the “no” that should be followed as a precaution against the Covid-19 outbreak. National directives for the management of Covid-19 mentioned face covering, social distancing, and punishment against spitting in public places.

When the country enters Unlock 4, this is what the guidelines say:

1. Face covering: The use of a face cover is mandatory in public places; in the workplace; and during transport

2. Social distancing: People must keep a minimum distance of 6 feet (2 gaz ki doori) in public places. Stores will ensure physical distance between customers
