Unlock 4.0: Maharashtra to lift curbs in hotels, travel, assistance to government office | City

With the Center opening more activities outside of the containment zones under Unlock 4.0 rules, Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray is poised to lift restrictions on the interstate and intrastate movement of people and goods, increase attendance at government offices and schools, and increase occupancy limits for hotels. According to a senior official, Thackeray is likely to grant relaxation when he declares his Unlock 4.0 plan on Monday, under the state’s “Mission Start Over” program. A separate electronic pass or permit is unlikely to be required for the movement of people and goods, within or between states. Despite a central directive, Maharashtra was one of the six states that persisted in it. Under the new Unlocking 4.0 rules in Maharashtra, hotel occupancy will increase from 33% to 50%, the attendance requirement in government offices for IAS officer-level staff increased to 100% and for subordinate staff increased from 15% to 30%, the frequency of Local trains were boarded and students in grades 9 to 12 were allowed to visit schools on a “voluntary” basis to clear up their doubts from September 21 onwards.
