The University of Mumbai senior exams will start from October 1, 2020. A circular published by the university team reported that the exams would continue until October 17 and would be taken online in MCQ format. Recently, Uday Samant, the state minister of Higher Education, reported that before the MCQ exams students would receive a bank of questions from their respective universities.

The minister took to his twitter account to report that he had a discussion with the VivevChancellor of the University of Mumbai, where he stated that two days before the MCQ exams, students will receive the proper question bank. Take a look at his tweet below.

The decision was made nearly two weeks after the Supreme Court’s decision that only students who sat for exams would earn degrees. Yesterday, addressing all universities about exam dates, the University of Mumbai reported that the exams would be conducted in a multiple-choice question format and only in a few cases where students have not sat for exams would they be taken physically or in offline mode. Additionally, students’ practical exams will start from September 15 and continue until September 25, 2020. This year, a total of 2,22,581 students from the University of Mumbai will sit 158 ​​exams to be held in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Ratnagiri, Thane and Raigad.

“Universities have also been asked to initiate a helpline number to advise students and listen to complaints, if any,” he added.

Teachers have been asked to present a bank of 250 MCQs each for various subjects, and to also establish final and mock tests. An online survey of students and their internet connectivity is being conducted to check if the exams can be taken without any technical problems. Colleges, however, have the time to set their own hours as long as the dates prescribed by the university are followed.
