Universities in Maharashtra to reopen from February 15: Uday Samant

Universities in Maharashtra will reopen from February 15 with 50 percent of total capacity following COVID-19 protocols, said Uday Samant, the State Minister for Technical and Higher Education today.
For university students, the minimum attendance rule of 75% will be eliminated for this year, the minister also said.

Students and staff members must wear masks and maintain social distancing on campus. Universities and colleges must provide disinfectants on campus.
Maharashtra has been running online classes for college and university students since March 2020.
The Maharashtra government had previously announced the reopening of schools for classes 5 to 8 depending on the situation on the ground in the respective regions. Thane had reopened their schools on January 27. The government has yet to respond to the call to reopen schools for classes 1 to 4.
Maharshtra teachers who teach in rural areas had said that the reopening of schools was a great relief.
