United States, UT Governments Will Not Impose Any Local Blockade Outside Containment Zones: Focus On New Guidelines


The Center in its new reopening guidelines issued on Wednesday said state and Union Territory (UN) governments will not impose any local closures outside of the containment zones without first consulting.

“State / UT governments will not impose any local closures (state / district / subdivision / city / town), outside of the containment zones, without prior consultation with the central government. There are no restrictions on interstate and intrastate movement, ”the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

In a detailed guideline for the new relaxations, which will be implemented as of October 1, the government has reopened several activities such as cinemas, schools and colleges among other things.

In the new guidelines, the Center also said that international travel will remain closed, except for those allowed by MHA.

These are the new guidelines issued by the Center on Wednesday:

– International passenger air travel, except as permitted by MHA.

– Entertainment parks and similar places will be closed.

– The blockade will continue to be strictly implemented in the Containment Zones until October 31, 2020.

– The Containment Zones will be delimited by the District authorities at the micro level after taking into consideration the MoHFW guidelines with the objective of effectively breaking the transmission chain. Strict containment measures will be applied in these containment zones and only essential activities will be allowed.

Within containment zones, strict perimeter control will be maintained and only essential activities will be allowed.

These Containment Zones will be notified on the websites of the respective District Collectors and by the States / UT, and the information will also be shared with the MOHFW.

– States should not impose any local lockouts outside of containment zones.

– No restriction to interstate and intrastate movement

There will be no restrictions on the interstate and intrastate movement of people and goods. No separate electronic permission / approval / permission will be required for such moves.
