The cabinet also approved a proposal to establish industrial corridor nodes at Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and Tumakuru in Karnataka under the Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC).

The proposals have an estimated total cost of Rs 7,725 crore and an estimated job creation of more than 2.8 lakh people, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said.

The cabinet also approved a plan to provide bank loans at lower rates to distilleries that produce ethanol for doping in gasoline, with a view to increasing India’s ethanol production capacity to absorb excess sugar and reduce oil imports.
