The West Bengal government led by Mamata Banerjee will provide motorcycles to almost two billion young people, under the ‘Karma Sathi’ scheme, to make them self-sufficient to start a business.

CM Banerjee reportedly made the decision on November 4 with the aim of helping almost 10 lakhs of people, who depend on the two lakhs of beneficiaries.

“Each motorcycle will be equipped with a removable box where beneficiaries can store and sell items such as fruits, vegetables, clothing and other essential items. This will not only make them self-sufficient, but will also benefit nearly 10 lakh people associated with them, ”Banerjee said, adding that the beneficiaries will receive soft loans from the state cooperative banks and the state government will help them in everything. process.

The ‘Karma Sathi’ plan aims to provide financial assistance and help to prospective young entrepreneurs. Soft loans and grants will be provided to undertake any new income generating project in manufacturing, service and trade / business sector up to Rs 2 lakh.

These loans will be granted by the State-owned Cooperative Bank on favorable terms.

The measure is believed to target nearly 27 percent of young voters, between the ages of 18 to 35, in the state and about 20.1 lakh of voters, who cast their votes for the first time in US polls. 2019 Lok Sabha.
