The leader of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), Uma Bharti, who tested positive for Covid-19 after Kedarnath-Badrinath yatra, has reported through social networks that she is in home isolation and is receiving all possible treatment from doctors in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. She denied contracting the virus from the priests, adding that her driver tested positive for the virus.
Manoj Bahukhandi, Medical Director (CMO) of the Pauri Garhwal district, where the leader is isolated, said: “A medical team from the Yamkeshwar block of the district is continuously in contact with her and provides all possible assistance.
Bharti had visited the Kedarnath shrine on Monday (September 21) where he offered prayers following all safety regulations. He had visited the Badrinath shrine in the Chamoli district on September 24.
On Sunday, Bharti tweeted: “After the news that I was positive for the coronavirus spread, all my supporters are very concerned. I am here in Vande Mataram Kunj, surrounded by the Ganges stream, in the foothills of the Himalayas. All medical facilities are available here and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh, is only a few kilometers away. The Pauri Garhwal district administration is also very vigilant and taking good care of me ”.

The leader also said that through the media, she learned that she contracted the virus after coming into contact with priests in the Himalayan state, which she denied and condemned.
“The priests and saints are not to blame. My driver was positive for Covid-19 and we did not know, he could have contracted the virus from him. I followed all the safety and social distancing rules, so the priests are not to blame, ”he tweeted.
On Saturday night, the leader, through her social media profile, reported that she was tested because she had a mild fever for three days and tested positive for the virus despite following all the Covid-19 regulations, including the social distancing.
