Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray On Wednesday, he discussed the COVID-19 situation with leaders of opposition parties.

The number of COVID-19 cases has steadily increased in the state despite various measures taken by the government.

As the Prime Minister conducted the meeting via video conference, most of the leaders gathered in Mantralaya.

Among those present at the Opposition meeting were the BJP Devendra Fadnavis and Pravin Darekar, head of MNS Raj Thackeray, VBA leader Prakash Ambedkar, PRP leader Jogendra Kawade, JSS leader Vinay Kore, RSP Mahadeo Jankar, PWP Jayant Patil, AIMIM leader Imtiaz Jaleel, Ashok Dhavle and Kapil Patil among others.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, Balasaheb Thorat, Ashok Chavan were also present at the meeting.

According to a news agency, Raj Thackeray suggested the deployment of the State Reserve Police Force to assist the police in implementing the blockade.

He also suggested that Muslims be asked to celebrate Ramzan indoors.

“If the blockade ended on May 17 and people took to the streets later, what happens if the pandemic continues to escalate? The government should think about all the problems,” he said.
