Uday Shankar will step down as President of The Walt Disney Company APAC and President of Star & Disney India, effective December 31, 2020, Rebecca Campbell, President of Disney’s Direct-to-Consumer & International segment, announced today.
Over the next three months, Shankar will work closely with Campbell to identify his successor and ensure a smooth transition.

With the successful launch of Disney + throughout the region, it has helped put The Walt Disney Company in a dominant position in this dynamic and incredibly strategic part of the world. His vast experience and insights have been invaluable in assembling a strong and cohesive APAC leadership team to chart a path forward for our transmission businesses in the region and beyond, ”said Campbell. “Uday has been a great friend, colleague and valued advisor to me personally, and I know I speak for all of DTCI when I say that he will be greatly missed. At the same time, I understand and respect your desire to make this change. I am very grateful that he has agreed to stay to help ensure a smooth transition. “
