Two Terrorists Killed in Jammu and Kashmir Shopian, Operation Still Continues

Two terrorists have been shot dead in an encounter in a village in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The security forces launched the operation last night in the district’s Sugan village. According to the police, the terrorists, once in hiding, were asked to surrender; however, they refused.

In a tweet, the Kashmir area police said the terrorists have not yet been identified.

The search operation is still active.

Last night, a terrorist was shot dead and a personal security officer was killed in the line of duty after a BJP worker was attacked in Nunar, Ganderbal district.

“#Terrorist shot a BJP worker in Nunar #Ganderbal. He is safe, however his only PSO was injured in this incident. An unidentified #terrorist was #killed in retaliation by PSOs. @JmuKmrPolice (sic)”, A tweet from the Kashmir area police read.

On Monday, two CRPF soldiers were killed in the line of duty and three others were injured after terrorists fired at a joint road operations team on the outskirts of Srinagar.

The terrorists struck as CRPF troops, along with Jammu and Kashmir police, were conducting road-opening operations on the Pampore bypass at around 12:50 pm.

This was the fourth such attack on the road, usually heavily guarded, in recent weeks.
