JAMMU: Two. terrorists were killed and another was captured Sunday in a shootout with security forces in the upper areas of Surankote in Jammu and Kashmiris Poonch district, officials said.
Terrorists are believed to have infiltrated this side from the other side of the Line of Control (LoC) about three days ago and were heading to the Shopian district of southern Kashmir when they were intercepted in a snowy area along Mughal Road by the late, officials said.

Another terrorist was captured alive during the shooting, officials said.
They said the two killed terrorists are suspected of being Pakistani nationals, but efforts are underway to identify them.
Officials said the group is believed to have infiltrated from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) three days ago and was heading to the Shopian district.
After obtaining information, they said, the police together with the army launched an operation and blocked all escape routes, but the snowfall slowed the chase.
With the weather improving, the operation resumed this morning and contact was made with the terrorists, who were offered to surrender but refused and triggered a shooting, officials said.
