Two militants were killed on Saturday in a meeting with security forces in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the Chingam area of the Kulgam district in southern Kashmir on Friday night after receiving specific information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.
He said the search operation turned into a meeting after militants fired at a party of the security forces, which retaliated.
In the exchange of gunfire, two militants were killed, the officer said, adding that their identity and group affiliation are being determined.
The operation continues, he said.
