In his speech on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a Rs 20 lakh crore package under “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan” intended to help the country become self-sufficient and return to normal after the coronavirus crisis.

The speech, which lasted almost half an hour, was entirely in Hindi and had some extremely harsh and detailed words. However, it was the phrase ‘Atmanirbhar’ (self-sufficient) that tickled Twitter and netizens presented all kinds of possibilities about what all ‘atmanirbhar’ could mean in closing. While some viewed baking as an act of self-sufficiency, others viewed the act of cleaning the house as a step toward self-sufficiency.
