On Monday, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced on Twitter that he will soon sign an executive order suspending immigration to the United States temporarily.

“In light of the attack by the invisible enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American citizens, I will sign an executive order to temporarily suspend immigration to the United States,” Trump said in the tweet.

Trump said the measure would also protect Americans’ jobs, although the pandemic crisis has already left 22 million people in the U.S. without a job. USA The president did not provide details on what immigration programs could be affected by the order.

However, as expected, not everyone is very satisfied with the idea. Data from recent years shows that there are approximately 44.7 million immigrants residing in the United States.

At least 15 percent of the United States population is made up of immigrants, and many of them are also employed in the health sector as doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals. And that’s what Twitter wants Trump to remember.

Some pointed out that a large number of health workers in the United States are immigrants. Many fight on the front lines and risk their own lives to stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the United States.
