Reports of problems with the social networking site are flooding the Internet with many tweets and the home page is not loading.
Some users are also seeing the “Twitter is over capacity” error message.
The blackout appears to be affecting parts of the US. The US, Europe and Japan, all of which appear to have started around 10 AM ET.

Thousands of reports were posted to Downdector on Monday morning, while some said the website was not opening, others said they were unable to share any tweets.
Approximately 52 percent of reports highlight website issues, 33 percent with the iOS app, and 13 percent of users are experiencing issues with the Android app.
Northern Europe and the states on the east coast of the United States are experiencing problems, while the whole of Japan appears to be depressed.
It is unclear how long the outage will last, but reports are still flooding Downdector as of this writing.
