Twitter Goes Wild as Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag Power RR Achieve Impressive Victory Over SRH

Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag starred with the bat, helping the Rajasthan Royals beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets on Saturday. With the victory, the Royals also ended their four-game losing streak. The Royals were reeling at 78-for-5 at one point before Tewatia and Parag teamed up to take home.

Tewatia remained undefeated at 45, while Parag remained undefeated at 42, as the duo shared a 85-run winning position. The Royals got off to a disastrous start with the bat.

They tried another starting combination when they paired Stokes with Jos Buttler for 159. But their move backfired once again when Stokes left in second after scoring just 5. He was castled by left-arm pacemaker Khaleel Ahmed.

Buttler and Captain Steve Smith couldn’t do much with the bat either, as they both set off cheaply to leave him staggering 26-for-3 in the fifth plus. Sanju Samson and Robin Uthappa then stopped the rot with a 37-run stoppage.

But just when it looked like they were going to rescue the Royals, they too left, as their side found themselves five short for just 78. Leg shooter Rashid Khan returned the two batters.

At the time, he had searched everywhere for the Royals before Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag teamed up to revive his team’s hopes. After playing cautiously early on, the duo launched an impressive counterattack to turn the game around. The duo switched gears from the 16th when their team needed 65 runs from the final 5 overs.

In the final, the Royals only needed 8 runs thrown by Khaleel Ahmed. After collecting six runs of the first four balls, Parag finished the game with a six in the fifth installment.

SRH entries:

Early in the game, SRH was 158 of 4 after choosing to hit first. Manish Pandey starred with the bat, scoring 54, while captain David Warner scored 48. Kartik Tyagi gave the Royals a good start by firing Jonny Bairstow cheaply before Warner and Pandey stabilized the boat.

The duo added 73 runs for the second wicket before Jofra Archer finished the stand by castling Warner. The SRH captain’s 48-run knock came off 38 balls and was studded with three fours and a pair of sixes. Pandey, on the other hand, completed his fifties before being sent back by Jaydev Unadkat.

After Pandey’s ejection, Kane Williamson (22 * of 12) and Priyam Garg (15 of 8) made good cameos to help SRH cross the 150-run mark. Archer was the Royals bowlers’ choice with figures of 1 for 25 from four overs.
