Trump wins Alaska, polling station tally rises to 217


WASHINGTON: President of the United States. Donald trump has won the fight presidential election in the state of Alaska, winning three votes in the polling stations and bringing his tally to 217.
The Republican Party also retained the Alaska Senate seat, giving it 50 seats in the 100-member United States Senate.
When the election was called in Alaska, Trump had received 56.9 percent of the total votes counted and the president-elect Joe biden of the Democratic Party with 39.1 percent.
With this, Trump’s electoral college vote count has risen to 217, according to the tally kept by The New York Times.
Biden has already been declared the winner of the presidential election on November 3 with 279 of the 538 electoral college votes. Trump has refused to budge and has filed lawsuits in several states, challenging the election results.
The election results in Alaska also gave the Republican Party an edge over Democrats in the Senate. Republican Senator Dan Sullivan won his Senate reelection bid. This gives Republicans 50 Senate seats, while Democrats have 48. The two Senate seats go to the January 5 election.
“President Trump and Senate Republicans win Alaska overwhelmingly by a massive 20 points difference!” Ivanka Trump, Trump’s daughter and presidential adviser, said in a tweet.
