United States President Donald Trump, who was changed to military hospital after being tested positive for COVID-19, is receiving Remdesivir therapy and “is fine,” the White House doctor said.
The Trump administration had issued an emergency use authorization for Remdesivir earlier this year after the drug showed moderate effectiveness in improving outcomes for hospitalized patients with the coronavirus.

Trump, 74, was airlifted to Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, a Maryland suburb of Washington DC, on Friday.
White House physician Sean Conley said medical specialists have recommended Remdesivir therapy to treat the president’s COVID-19 infection.
“Tonight, I am happy to report that the president is okay,? Conley said in a health bulletin Friday night, the first after the president was taken to the military hospital as a precaution.
? You do not need supplemental oxygen, but in consultation with specialists we have chosen to initiate therapy with Remdesivir. Have you completed your first dose and are you resting comfortably? he said.
Conley, in a White House memo, said that he recommended that Trump be transferred to Walter Reed Military Medical Center? For further supervision?
Trump and first lady Melania Trump, 50, tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. While the president was transferred to the military hospital, the First Lady stayed in the White House.
