President Donald Trump’s campaign has filed another lawsuit in Michigan challenging the election results.
The federal lawsuit, which the campaign said it filed Tuesday night, seeks to prevent the state from certifying results that show Democrat Joe Biden in the lead by nearly 146,000 votes.
The campaign asked a judge to stop Michigan from certifying fraudulent ballots – those received after Election Day, those processed when observers were not present, and those counted with faulty tabulating machines or software. Michigan judges have already rejected at least two previous lawsuits challenging the state’s election results.
Trump has said he does not accept the results that show Biden won and his campaign and Republican supporters have filed lawsuits in at least four states. Legal experts say the lawsuits will not substantially change the vote count or provide enough votes for Trump to win in the electoral college.
The Trump campaign has provided no evidence of widespread electoral fraud.
Trump sued on Monday to prevent Pennsylvania from certifying its election results, claiming that voting irregularities justify not declaring the winner as the case progresses. Biden leads in Pennsylvania, which has 20 electoral votes, by nearly 46,000 votes, according to the Associated Press.
The campaign provided a copy of the 31-page complaint, which could not be immediately verified in federal court in the Western District of Michigan.
