Calcutta:

Following Suvendu Adhikari’s resignation from Mamata Banerjee’s cabinet in West Bengal on Friday, Trinamool Congress (TMC) Deputy Saugata Roy said that Adhikari has not yet resigned from the party and will not fly to Delhi either.

“He (Suvendu) has not resigned from the Party or the MLA post. I am sure he will not go to Delhi. It is a lie that he will meet Mohan Bhagwat,” Roy told ANI.

“If anyone is upset with the party or has any complaints, we will definitely resolve it. I will speak to Suvendu Ji, but he certainly won’t be going anywhere else and I can assure you of this.”

Adhikari resigned from the ministerial post in Mamata Banerjee’s cabinet on Friday. Tweeting his resignation letter, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar said the issue will be addressed from a “constitutional” perspective.

“Today at 1:05 pm I have been sent a letter of resignation from Mr. Suvendu Adhikari from his post as minister addressed to the honorable chief minister. The issue will be addressed from a constitutional perspective,” the governor tweeted.

Previously, on various occasions, such as in Nandigram and Midnapore, Mr. Adhikari was seen holding public meetings without the party’s symbol, flag or banner. Even the Adhikari posters had also appeared in some districts of the state.
