A trial of the Covid-19 vaccination program will be conducted in four states to test planned operations and established mechanisms for the coronavirus inoculation campaign.

The tests will take place today (December 28) and tomorrow (December 29) in Punjab, Assam, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, a day after recording the lowest daily cases of Covid-19 in almost six months.

Two districts in each of these four states in the four areas of India will assess your readiness in five different types of medical settings: district hospitals, public health and community centers, urban and rural areas, and private facilities.

A detailed checklist, prepared by the Ministry of Health, has been shared with the four states conducting the trial.

In Punjab, the districts of Ludhiana and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar have been selected where the coronavirus immunization trial will take place.

According to the recommendations of the National Group of Experts on the Administration of Coronavirus Vaccines (NEGVAC), three priority population groups are health workers (approximately 1 crore), frontline workers (approximately 2 crore) and the prioritized age group (approximately 27 crore).

After the drill, the State Working Group will review a report prepared, which will be presented to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
