Boult suffered a groin injury in Qualifier 1 vs DC
Trent Boult gave MI a dream start to IPL 2020 Qualifier 1 by bagging two wickets in just his first over of innings. After teasing DC hitters extensively in his first two overs, the Kiwi pacemaker did not return to bowling after sustaining a groin injury, sending chills down the spine of the Mumbai fans.
In his first spell, Boult finished 2-1-9-2 and was expected to accompany Jasprit Bumrah with the ball in death overs as well, but had to leave the ground in 14th due to injury.

While the absence didn’t hurt Mumbai, which won the match by 57 runs and booked a spot in the IPL final, it did make people wonder if the left gunsmith would be fit for the final.
How important is Boult to MI?
Boult has been IM’s favorite bowler in powerplays. While Jasprit Bumrah has bagged a lot of his ground in the death overs, the New Zealand international has hardly failed when it comes to fooling hitters in the first 6 overs.
Additionally, Boult is currently the third highest carrier at IPL 2020 with 22 wickets to his name.
Interestingly, the Bumrah-Boult duo is the deadliest at IPL 2020, together both players have accounted for 49 wickets, which is the highest by any pair in the tournament.
