Starting on October 10, train seats will be available even five minutes before the train leaves the station as Indian Railways has decided to restore the pre-covid system of preparing the second reservation table half an hour before the departure time. Regular passenger train services remain suspended in the wake of the pandemic. But the Indian Railways in a phased fashion are restoring pre-Covid practices and are also running special trains.
This is all you need to know about the new changes:
one. The second reservation tables will be prepared 30 minutes before the departure time of the trains from the stations. This was normal before Covid. But when Indian Railways launched special passenger trains amid the pandemic, the second reservation box was being prepared two hours before the scheduled departure.
two. Train tickets can be reserved until the second reservation table is prepared. Starting tomorrow, these charts will be prepared 30 minutes to 5 minutes prior to scheduled departure, tickets can be reserved during this time.
3. The first chart is prepared at least four hours before the scheduled train departure. If seats become vacant due to cancellation, they can be reserved through the PRS counters and online until the second chart is prepared.
Four. Tickets can also be canceled during this time, in accordance with the provisions of the refund rules.
5. Times were changed during the pandemic, as tickets were initially only available online. The Railways avoided crowds at stations and the aim was to discourage people from traveling unless absolutely necessary.
6. In recent months, the situation has changed. The Center has focused more on reopening than closing. The Railways have also launched several new trains. With the arrival of the festive season, Ferrocarriles has already announced 39 pairs of new special trains. It has not yet announced a date for these special trains but they will be operational between October 15 and November 30.
