Toyota on Wednesday launched the Urban Cruiser SUV in the Indian market starting in ₹8.40 lakh. The company has announced that deliveries of the new SUV will begin in mid-October.
The Urban Cruiser has been launched in three variants: medium grade, high grade, and premium grade. Pricing for the entry-level mid-tier MT starts at ₹8.40 lakh and extends up to ₹11.30 lakh for the high spec premium grade AT variant.

The Urban Cruiser SUV comes out as the second installment in the Toyota-Suzuki alliance in India after the Glanza, which is a lowered Maruti Baleno. The Urban Cruiser is a derivative of the Maruti Vitara Brezza and sports the same exterior design and styling.
Its color palette comprises 6 monotonous color options: blue, brown, white, orange, silver, and gray, and three two-tone colors: blue / black, brown / black, and orange / white.

Outside, the Urban Cruiser has a dynamic new grille, LED projector headlight, and LED fog lights. It rolls on 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels that have a premium look and sporty appeal. Some of its other highlights include a die-cast smart touchscreen, premium two-tone interiors, rain-sensing windshield wipers, automatic climate control (standard on all variants), cruise control, and electrochromic rearview mirror.
It is powered by a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline powertrain with an advanced lithium battery with ISG (Integrated Starter Generator).

The Urban Cruiser also has features like torque assist, regenerative braking, and an idle start / stop system.
