While the week before was relatively slow mainly due to the coronavirus pandemic and ongoing blockade, the last week of April was fortunately active for the auto industry. To start, Datsun scoffed at his redi-GO facelift, followed by Mahindra who launched the BS6 compliant Alturas G4. Other highlights of the week included Mahindra which revealed prices for the BS6 compliant Mahindra Scorpio and XUV500, as well as Skoda which started booking for multiple cars. And finally, Nissan revealed details of the powertrain of its 2020 Kicks SUV.

Datsun redi-GO Facelift Mocked

After a series of spy photos, Datsun finally released two teaser images of the updated redi-GO prior to its release this year. Exterior updates include a smoother shoulder line, new L-shaped DRL headlights and a sleek new wheelset. It is expected to feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, among other interior settings. It is expected to continue with its 0.8-liter and 1.0-liter gasoline engines, albeit with a BS6 upgrade. To learn more, head here.

Mahindra Heights BS6 Released

Mahindra has quietly released the BS6 version of Alturas in India with prices ranging from Rs 28.69 lakh to Rs 31.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This is a price jump of Rs 99,000 over its BS4 counterpart. The 2.2-liter diesel engine remains unchanged in performance figures: 181PS and 420Nm. Head here to find out more.

2020 Nissan Kicks Powertrain

Shortly after its sister brand, Datsun, revealed teaser images of the red-GO facelift, Nissan revealed the engine that will power the 2020 Nissan Kicks. It will share the Duster Turbo’s BS6-compatible 1.3-liter gasoline engine that produces 156PS. and 254Nm. Skoda reserves

Skoda has gone ahead and started online reservations for Karoq, Superb facelift and BS6 Rapid. All three cars were scheduled for launch in late March and April, but have been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The reserve amount is Rs 25,000 for the BS6 Rapid, and Rs 50,000 for the Superb facelift and Karoq. Head here for more.

Mahindra BS6 XUV500 and Scorpio prices revealed

Mahindra dealer sources have revealed prices for the BS6 XUV500 and Scorpio. The BS6 XUV500 will face an increase of Rs 28,000 in its variants with the basic spec W3 and the higher spec automatic variants to be discontinued. On the other hand, the prices of the BS6 Scorpio have risen by Rs 60,000. The price of the base spec S5 variant has yet to be revealed, but it is likely that it may receive a similar raise. The S3, S7 120PS and S11AWD variants have been discontinued from the line.

Mahindra XUV300 Sportz Lalay Delay

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, Mahindra has revealed that the spiciest launch of XUV300 Sportz that was scheduled for April 2020 has been delayed. It has a new 1.2-liter BSS-compliant mStallion turbo petrol engine developing 130 hp of power and 230 Nm of torque, 20 hp and 30 Nm more than the standard petrol model.
