A great goal should always be followed with a great celebration, whether a player has scored a winner in halftime to secure the league title or has reached a personal milestone.
And the stars of the Premier League have regularly faced the challenge of producing extravagant and wonderful celebrations since the division began in 1992.
Some players have even chosen to score by hitting rival players or fans; A certain Emmanuel Adebayor cross-field race comes to mind just to celebrate in front of Arsenal fans.
Others have taken a lighter tone by wearing props or coin dances at their celebrations, some of which have become so iconic that the dance movement is now synonymous with the player.
Without further ado, here’s Mirror Football’s list of the 10 most iconic Premier League goal celebrations …

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has had plenty of opportunities to celebrate since he moved to Arsenal in January 2018 thanks to his 49 goals in 75 Premier League appearances.
The Gabonese star has been inventive with his celebrations throughout his career, donning Spiderman and Batman masks while with Borussia Dortmund and a Black Panther while with the Gunners.
But his most iconic celebration is his usual head-on leap: a reckless move that is always a relief to see him land.
A special mention also goes to his air guitar playing and dancing after scoring against Cardiff City in September 2018.
9. Adebayor antagonizes Arsenal
Gunners fans will not enjoy this much. Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebyaor had left the North London club just two months earlier before facing them against Manchester City.
He suffered a hostile reception from his former followers, but recovered when he scored with 10 minutes remaining and ran the entire field.
He passed all his teammates on the way to the knee in front of Gunners fans and sent them wild for all the wrong reasons.
Adebayor was fined £ 25,000 and later apologized for his actions after this notorious celebration.

In true Mario Balotelli style, he chose the week before the Manchester Derby to light fireworks in his home, and then the game itself to carry out this legendary celebration.
After his fireworks shenanigans just two days before Manchester City faced off Manchester United, the charismatic Italian scored the first match when the Etihad Stadium club beat their local rivals 6-1.
Balotelli slipped the ball into the bottom corner before standing in place and lifting his shirt to reveal a bottom layer with the words “why always me?” while looking defiantly around the field.
The October 2011 derby is famous in its own right on the scoreboard, but the Balotelli celebration is the cherry on top.
7. Gerrard’s camera kiss
Steven Gerrard loved to score in the Northwest Derby. He is the top scorer in games between Liverpool and Manchester United and seemed to enjoy one goal in particular.
The Reds triumphed over United at Old Trafford in March 2009, with Gerrard scoring from the penalty spot in the 4-1 victory.
The captain celebrated by running to the corner flag, kissing the badge and then a camera lens.
He secured the place for this celebration in the history books by repeating the feat five years later when Liverpool won 3-0 at Old Trafford.
6. Raised shearer arm
A simple celebration, but you have to make this list because of how many times it was done.
Alan Shearer is the Premier League’s top scorer of all time, has scored 260 times, and celebrated almost every goal by raising his right arm skyward as he walked away in celebration.
Iconic of the former striker for Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United.

Perhaps the most original selection on the list, Jimmy Bullard chose to imitate the talk of Hull City boss Phil Brown’s team at this well-coordinated celebration.
With the Tigers losing 4-0 to Manchester City in 2008, the coach gave his team a conference on the field at halftime.
And Bullard couldn’t help but sit down with the Hull players and taunt them after scoring to make it 1-1 when they faced City a year later.
Although Brown laughed at the celebration at the time, Bullard later said he was told to “curl up” after the game.
4. Rooney’s coup de grace
Another nifty celebration, Wayne Rooney responded to criticism in March 2015 after a video of him appeared to appear knocked out as he faced off with Phil Bardsley of Stoke City.
After scoring in a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, the Manchester United icon threw four punches into the air before falling theatrically on his back.
3. AGUEROOOO
This one needs no introductions. Sergio Agüero’s emphatic celebrations after winning the Premier League for Manchester City in 2012 brought Martin Tyler’s shout to life from the comment box.
The 95-minute winner to beat the Queens Park Rangers and clinch the title saw the Argentinean take his shirt off and spin it around his body when Joe Hart, Roberto Mancini and almost everyone at Etihad Stadium went completely insane.
2. Cantona’s greatness
Eric Cantona scored one of the Premier League’s all-time best goals and followed with one of the best celebrations in December 1996.
The Frenchman made his way from midfield and, hitting the penalty area, hit the sweetest balloons in the upper corner on Sunderland goalkeeper Lionel Pérez.
With his neck raised and his chest swollen, the great United slowly turned on the ground with indifference before raising his arms and being surrounded by teammates.
Cantona explained earlier this year that the celebration was in revenge towards his compatriot, Pérez, who had refused to shake hands with him before the kickoff.
1. Crouchy’s robot
Peter Crouch’s famous dance is so iconic that doing ‘The Crouchy’ is synonymous with making the robot.
However, what fans forget is that he barely performed on the field. After debuting his moves in the 2006 England World Cup warm-up games, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool striker insisted that he would only perform the robot again if England won the tournament.
As such, the celebration was concealed until Crouch reached the Premier League 100-goal milestone with a hit by Stoke City in February 2017. And how sweet it was to see him again.
Not many people can claim they have a dance move named after him, but Crouchy can and her robot tops our list.
Honorable mentions: The dance of Daniel Sturridge, the somersault of Robbie Keane, the immersion of Suárez in front of the celebration of the “old man” by David Moyes and Samuel Eto’o
