To be held 4 times a year in 13 languages, the first round of JEE-Mains is scheduled for February


The JEE-Mains exam for admission to engineering universities will be held four times a year starting in 2021 to offer flexibility to students and the opportunity to improve their scores, the Union Minister of Education announced on Wednesday, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. The first edition of the exam will be held from February 23 to 26, followed by rounds in March, April and May. The minister added that the exams are being conducted in 13 languages ​​for the first time.

“We have reviewed input from students and from various sectors and it has been decided that JEE-Mains will be held in four sessions in February, March, April and May,” said Nishank. “The first session will be held from February 23 to 26 and the results will be announced within five days after the last exam date,” he said.

“The measure will ensure that students do not miss opportunities due to an exam crash or due to the COVID-19 current situation. “Nishank also said that students will have the option of answering 75 questions (25 of each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) out of 90 (30 of each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics).

Pokhriyal had previously said that the entrance exam will be conducted in more regional languages. In addition to English, students can take the test in Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
