Kodambakkam police have booked a case against BJP (Thousand Lights constituency) actor and candidate Khushbu Sundar for allegedly campaigning in front of a mosque on Friday, in violation of the electoral code.

The complainant said that while on duty, the actress and her followers were seen standing in front of a mosque distributing leaflets without obtaining the necessary permission from the authorities. The complainant alleged that his act violated the model code of conduct.

Upon receipt of the complaint, the Kodambakkam police registered a first informative report against her and her supporters under articles 143 (Penalty for illegal assembly) and 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the IPC.
