Calcutta:
Trinamool MLA and congressional ministers have lost faith in the Mamata Banerjee government in West Bengal, BJP head of state Dilip Ghosh said on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters, he asked that if TMC’s MLAs cannot trust the party, then how will ordinary people do it?
“Didi has failed in state disaster management and is now busy with party disaster management. Now those meetings will be more frequent as many have lined up to join the BJP,” Dilip Ghosh said, referring to a meeting emergency at the prime minister’s residence after the resignation of TMC heavyweight Suvendu Adhikari.
He said the party chairman JP Nadda is expected to arrive in the state on December 8 or 9.
“The days of TMC are over. They have the police under their control, even then people are joining us, which means the party is over,” said Dilip Ghosh.
On Friday, TMC MLA Mihir Goswami resigned from the party and joined the BJP, saying he expected a “new political era” in the state in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
“The addition of Mihir Goswami is just the beginning, there will be more in the coming months,” said Dilip Ghosh.
