New Delhi: IAS officers Tina Dabi and Athar Khan, who had married in 2018, filed for divorce by mutual consent in a family court in Jaipur. While Tina Dabi had obtained the first position in the UPSC exam in 2015 and Athar Amir, who is a native of Kashmir, had secured the second place in the civil service exams in the same year. While many people praised her wedding as a symbol of communal harmony, the Hindu Mahasabha called it love-jihad, after which her story became a hot topic of discussion from Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir. Also Read: Amid Rise in COVID Cases, Government May Send More Core Teams to Other States
However, their marriage fell apart after Dabi removed ‘Khan’ from her last name on social media at times and Athar unfollowed her on Instagram.

Tina Dabi, a Dalit, met Athar Amar-ul Shafi Khan for the first time at the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) office in North Block for a congratulatory function on May 11, 2015, and they fell in love on one of the other.
“It was love at first sight,” the IAS leader had once said. “We met in the morning and at night Aamir was at my door,” she recalled. The 2015 IAS star also said she was impressed with Khan’s wit and charm.
Dabi had also said that he was not overly concerned about what people thought of his interfaith love.
The first of IAS 2015, Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan, got married on Saturday and chose the place of their wedding in Pahalgam Anantnag.

“We are in love and very happy. But I must admit that I get really upset when I read about us. We have stopped googling our names and reading news about ourselves. I think it is a small price to pay to be in the public eye, ”said the IAS leader.
