These 80 new trains will join the 230 special trains already in operation, said Yadav, who was recently appointed first chief executive officer of Indian Railways.
The timetable for these trains will be that of regular trains. Strikes will be restricted and discussion with the respective state governments will be taken into consideration. Indian Railways had suspended all passenger trains due to the imposition of a nationwide shutdown effective March 25. However, it resumed services in a staggered fashion, with Shramik Special trains to help stranded migrant workers reach their home states starting May 1.
Some of the new trains include those on the Delhi-Indore, Yesvantpur-Gorakhpur, Puri-Ahmedabad, New Delhi-Bengaluru routes.

How to book tickets on IRCTC:
To reserve your tickets, you must visit the IRCTC website irctc.co.in or download their app. After going to the IRCTC website, click the ‘Register’ button in the upper right corner of the website to create an IRCTC account, in case you don’t have an account yet. If you do, enter your login credentials to reserve your ticket.
Once you are logged in, you can see if you have a seat in that class or not. If seating is available, you can reserve tickets. To do this, you must click on the “Book Now” button. After this, the names of the passengers should be given, for whom the tickets are reserved.
Scroll down and enter the mobile phone number and captcha code. Then click on book. Then you have to pay, for this you can choose credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI. After payment, you can download the ticket. You will also receive an SMS on your phone number.
“Where there is demand for a particular train, where the waiting list is long, we will operate a clone train before the real train, so that passengers can travel,” said the chairman of the railway board, VK Yadav.
Yadav also said that the Railways will operate trains as long as there is demand from the states for testing or other similar purposes.
Yadav said 80 trains have been introduced taking into account the covid-19 situation, and also to allow the reverse migration of workers to urban areas to work, with the country entering Unlocking 4.0.
Indian Railways is operating 30 Rajdhani-type special trains that started from 05.12.2020 and 200 Special Mail Express trains introduced on 06.01.2020 (total of 230 trains).
