CHENNAI: Three members of a family were found dead in Sowcarpet in Chennai Wednesday night with gunshot wounds to the body. Police suspected that the trio were shot and killed by relatives due to a dispute.
The deceased have been identified as Dali Chand, 74, his wife Pushpa Bai, 70, and their son Sheetal, 42. They come from Jawal Rajasthan.
Dali Chand ran a finance company in the city, police said. The family stayed on the first floor of a three-story residential apartment on Vinayaga Maestri Street in Sowcarpet.

A team of fingerprint experts and forensic experts was summoned to the scene. A sniffer dog was put into service to track the assailants.

Jayamala’s brothers, Vikas and Kailash, frequently visited Dali Chand’s home and demanded money. Some of the neighbors told investigating officers that they had seen Vikas and Kailash recently. The duo had gotten into an argument with Chand’s family.
The police were suspicious of Vikash and Kailash’s role in the triple murder. The police have formed special teams to track down the attackers with the help of CCTV footage of nearby residences and shops.
