As video conferencing is becoming the norm amid the Coronavirus blockade, many new tools are popping up on the web to make video calls stand out. Avatarify is one of those ridiculously artistic instruments that can allow you to become Einstein, Mona Lisa, or anyone you have an image of.
First noticed floating in Twitter, Avatarify is an AI instrument that can overlay a person’s face on an image to create a mobile avatar of the person. This avatar can be used among common video conferencing applications like Skype, Zoom and Teams.
The instrument was released on April 12, which has not returned. However, it wasn’t very common until undoubtedly one of its builders, Ali Aliev, recently released a video (below) about setting up the instrument on a Windows PC.
Now, within the 13 minute instructional video, Aliev defined each side of the setup course. However, if you want to see the instrument in motion, go to the 9:45 mark in the video.
According to the developer, It is recommended to have the required specifications on your PC, that is, a GPU so that this system runs easily. As defined by Aliev, this system can run at 15FPS with an NVIDIA GTX 1070 and at 33FPS with an NVIDIA GTX 1080Ti. However, in case you have a MacBook Pro and don’t use a GPU, this system will run at only 1FPS. So this system wants a CUDA-enabled video card. Without it, this system will use the PC’s processing power and would not give acceptable results.
In the video, Aliev installed this system on a Windows PC using the fonts on his Github page and the immediate command. Then he put on the Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) and used his digital camera to create his avatar.
At the tip of the video, Aliev also gave some useful tricks to make his video calls much more eye-catching.
