At first, we thought there had been some kind of error, but the new Asus ImagineBook is really available for $ 299.99 from BestBuy (around £ 245 / AU $ 480), in what appears to be a global exclusive.
Asus ImagineBook Laptop – $ 299.99 at BestBuy
(approximately £ 245 / AU $ 480)
Inexplicably affordable, this new Asus laptop has an Intel Core M3 CPU, dual cores, and outstanding aesthetics. It is also virtually silent thanks to its fanless design. Grab it while you can!

This new Asus kit piece hasn’t even been announced at the time of writing, and we’re excited for several reasons. Chief among them, the presence of the Intel Core M3-8100Y CPU.
This processor is usually reserved for much more expensive and premium laptops. Intel itself says that the CPU has a suggested retail price of $ 355, much higher than the price of the entire ImagineBook.
Asus has also embraced a design philosophy that reminds us of the netbook era; textured cover, a pure white minimalist finish, fine mesh textures around the keyboard, and lots of plastic (and not the sticky type).
International clients
Unfortunately, BestBuy does not deliver globally, so international customers may have to use a specialized package forwarding service if they want to take advantage of the deal.
The device features dual cores, a power dissipation of just 5W, and a maximum Turbo frequency of 3.4GHz (from 1.1GHz). Such a low TDP means that the system can bypass the fan and rely solely on the heatsink, making it a wonderfully quiet experience.
The hardware components are certainly unspectacular (4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD), but with a 14-inch TN Full HD matte panel, 802.11ac, and a nice variety of ports (audio jack, three USB ports, a HDMI connector and a microSD slot), ImagineBook should satisfy most use cases.

It’s bigger and heavier than you might expect and there are reports that the memory is soldered (so you won’t be able to upgrade it), but the SSD and Wi-Fi card can be changed.
We have a hunch that stocks won’t last, so pick it up while you can!
