Kangana Ranaut said she was moved after hearing the Bombay High Court comment to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on their petition against the demolition of a part of her Mumbai office. As the court said the decision should not be delayed as the house collapsed during the rains, Kangana said she had “tears in her eyes”.
“Honorable Judge HC, this brought tears to my eyes, in the torrential rains of Mumbai my house is falling apart, thought of my broken house with so much compassion and concern means a lot to me, my heart is healed thank you giving me back everything I had lost, “he wrote in a tweet.
A bench of judges SJ Kathawalla and RI Chagla ordered BMC H district officer Bhagyawant Late to present his response to the guilty plea. Late had signed the demolition notice delivered to Ranaut on September 7. BMC’s lead attorney, Anil Sakhre, also asked for more time for Late to submit his response. However, the bank ordered the BMC to file the response on Late’s behalf on Monday, saying it could not delay the hearing.
“We cannot leave the demolished house as it is. Here you need more time but otherwise you are fast ”, observed the bench. “The building is partly demolished and, with the heavy monsoon, we cannot leave it in this state. We will start listening to the petitioner tomorrow, ”the bank said.
Kangana, in her plea filed with the HC on September 9, requested that the demolition carried out by the BMC of her Pali Hill bungalow be declared illegal.

Subsequently, he amended his petition to demand two million rupees in damages to the civic body and its officials.
In his guilty plea, he alleged that BMC had demolished the bungalow out of personal revenge, as it had made some adverse comments to the Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government.
