The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has shared a photo on Instagram, a night view of the earth that was taken aboard the International Space Station in 2016.

In the wide view of the Earth with fisheye lenses, one can easily distinguish the stars, the city lights and the atmospheric brightness. In starting the publication’s title, the organization has used a quote from Andrew Morgan.

On the occasion of the 50th Earth Day, the organization had shared an impressive photo of the planet. Not surprisingly, the photo has gone viral with over a million likes.

According to the publication, the crew clicked on this image on Apollo 17 on December 7, 1972. In the caption, it has been mentioned that NASA satellites have been monitoring Earth even before the start of the first Day of the earth.
