Third wave of Covid-19 in Delhi is worst yet, says Satyendar Jain

Delhi has reached the peak of the third wave of the new coronavirus, Health Minister Satyendar Jain said. Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain added that cases will soon drop in the national capital.

“The third wave of COVID-19 is at its peak in Delhi. The number of cases suggests that it is the worst wave so far. But the cases will go down soon,” Jain said. PTI reported.

The national capital registered 6,953 new cases of coronavirus and 79 deaths this Saturday, according to the official health bulletin.

“The total number of positive cases in Delhi stands at 4.30,784. The total of active and recovered cases is 40,258 and 3.83,614, respectively,” the bulletin said.

According to the bulletin, a total of 15,409 RT-PCR tests were performed on Saturday, while the number of rapid antigen tests was 42,024.

On Friday, Delhi recorded more than 7,000 COVID-19 cases for the first time, bringing the tally to more than 4.23 lakh.

Again he appealed to the inhabitants of Delhi to treat the use of masks as a vaccine, until the actual medication is developed.

On the increasing level of pollution and the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Delhi, he said that pollution is not the cause.

“But both are dangerous. The main reason for the increase in infections is our lax behavior. If we don’t wear masks, we don’t follow social distancing, then it is the main reason for the increase,” Jain said.
